Harvey G. Knell, Founder & President
Harvey has over 40 years of experience as an operator, entrepreneur and investor. Harvey currently manages a real estate portfolio valued at over $900 million inclusive of all property types including retail, apartments, office, industrial, and healthcare facilities. Previously, Harvey served as President & CEO of Grace Home Centers West, which operated 90 home improvement centers in the western United States and was President & CEO of Ole's Home Centers, Inc., which was the sixteenth largest home improvement center chain in the United States when it was sold to W.R. Grace. Harvey was also the founding CEO and Chairman of Stør and has served (or serves) on the board of several companies and charitable organizations. Harvey earned a Masters of Business Administration from Columbia University and has over 40 years of business experience.
Peter Knell, Managing Director
Peter has been acting portfolio manager for KCB Real Estate Management and has been primarily responsible for its real estate portfolio since 2005 (which includes retail shopping centers, multifamily, and healthcare facilities across the United States). Peter has led the acquisition of over $600 million of real estate assets. Peter earned a B.A., with highest honors, from Princeton University, a Master's of Music degree from The Juilliard School and a Doctorate in Music Composition from the University of Texas and was the recipient of a Fulbright Fellowship. Peter is also an accomplished composer whose compositions have received international awards and recognition.
Lorin Knell, Managing Director
Lorin sits on the investment committee at KCB with a primary focus on sourcing, closing and supporting KCB's acquisitions. Lorin serves as a member of the Board of Directors on several companies (including Kadel's Auto Body, the 9th largest independent collision repair company in the US, ISIS, a government services provider, and Thrift Books, a leading e-retailer of used books). Lorin previously spent ten years in retail management. Currently, Lorin serves as the Treasurer of Sequoyah School's board of directors. Lorin earned a B.A. in Mathematics and Economics from Colby College and a MBA from the University of Virginia's Darden Graduate School of Business Administration.
Bob Blair, Managing Director
Bob sits on the investment committee at KCB with a primary focus on sourcing, closing and supporting KCB's acquisitions. Previously, Bob was a Principal with Dubin Clark, a leveraged buyout firm, and was a manager with Arthur Andersen LLP in their Philadelphia office, where Bob worked extensively with middle-market companies as a consultant, auditor and financial advisor. Bob serves as a member of the Board of Directors for Kadel's Auto Body, the 9th largest independent collision repair company in the US, ISIS, a government services provider, and Thrift Books, a leading e-retailer of used books. Bob graduated from the University of Delaware with a B.S. in Accounting with high honors and earned an MBA from the University of Virginia's Darden Graduate School of Business Administration, where he received the Faculty Award for Academic Excellence. Bob is also a licensed CPA.
